Meatless Monday (Global / Singapore)

In Jul 2017, Argentina President Mauricio Macri decreed a surprising and savvy change to the menu at the presidential residence. The Casa Rosada — or the “Pink House” — will now serve only vegan food on Mondays to President Macri and all 554 employees.

There are two reasons for this change in meal plans, explains Argentina’s Secretary General Fernando de Andreis in an announcement on his official Facebook page:

On one hand, it is so that at least once a week the 554 people who eat lunch at the Pink House, will eat a lean menu that will contribute to the improvement of their health. On the other hand, knowing the curiosity that awakens in the country [about] everything that goes on in the house, this is as a simple way to start an intense discussion about the diet of Argentinians.
